At-home keratin treatment

While it de-frizzes and might make your curls appear more loose it won't straighten your hair. After the first wash, your hair's natural volume will resume while the smoothness and shine will remain. On a technical level, our treatment differs from straightening treatments and perms because of the way it works on the hair. Straightening treatments and perms use harsh chemicals that alter the disulfide bonds in the hair to restructure the strands. On the other hand, our treatment uses natural chemicals that work on a different level and target the weaker, modified bonds in the hair. This allows us to achieve smooth, frizz-free locks without damaging the hair.

Our at-home keratin treatment has the same effect and gives you the same outcome as the traditional keratin treatments done at the salons.

The results are semi-permanent, gradually fading over three months after application. To keep your hair at its smoothest and shiniest, we recommend reapplying the treatment every two months for consistently smooth hair.

The treatment is in all ways a safe alternative to traditional chemical-rich keratin treatments, as it is 100% formaldehyde-free, making it entirely safe to be performed at home. As the treatment doesn’t consist of any harsh chemicals the treatment doesn’t irritate your scalp and there is no need to use gloves when applying the treatment. 

However, we do recommend checking the ingredients list to see if you are allergic to any of the natural ingredients included in the formula. Our product may react with some coloured fabrics, to avoid colour fading and stains on your beloved clothes, we recommend using an old towel for covering the shoulders during the treatment.

Typically similar treatments on the market utilize animal sourced keratin and strong chemicals as their active ingredients to achieve effective results.

VeratinTech™  technology is grounded on the acidic oxoacetamides synergy and utilizes keratin amino acids sourced from wheat and soy. The unique technology enables capillary realignment which results in natural smooth and shiny hair that lasts for up to three months - all this without damaging the hair.

1. After the application of the treatment, it absorbs to the hair cuticle - the topmost layer of the hair strand.

2. During the action time, treatment enters the second and thickest layer of the hair strand.

3. The acids modify the weak and reversible bonds between protein chains.

4. Amino acids of the vegan keratin creates new links between existing proteins and keratin is absorbed by the core of the hair strand. 

5. The treatment is washed off when the viable links have been fixed. Some stronger bonds, such as ones damaged by bleaching, may not be fixed.

6. The heat of the iron seals the new bonds and the cuticle back down - making the hair de-frizzed and shiny. 

7. Blow-drying with hot air after each wash makes the cuticles settle down again, which enables the hair to be smooth for up to three months. 

8. Links between protein chains fade gradually with each hair wash. To seal them again, the treatment can be repeated every second month.

The 100ml spray bottle is designed for 1-2 time application, depending on the length and thickness of your hair. Remember that it is vital to apply a generous amount of solution so that your hair is completely saturated

Yes it is! However, please keep in mind that it will not repair bonds damaged by bleaching treatments. Also colored hair may be subject to fading in color when flat iron is applied on hair - especially if hair has been colored with semi permanent dye. 

To avoid any fading of you colored hair we recommend passing the iron on a small section of hair and waiting until your hair cools. If you notice any fading, lower the temperature and test it until  you no longer see any fading. 

• Don’t wash your hair for 24 hours. 
• Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners. Like ours!
• Blow dry after every wash to reactivate the smoothness.
• Repeat the treatment after 2 months to keep it smooth. 

It will only take 10 minutes to spray in the treatment after which you let it act for 40-60 minutes. All in all the entire treatment process will take you only 1,5 to 2 hours and it will transform your frizzy and lifeless hair into silky-smooth which will last for up to three months.

There are a few things to avoid in order to achieve the optimal results:

• Not applying enough solution – Remember that your hair needs to be fully wet after spraying in the treatment
• Not letting it act long enough – Remember to let it act for one hour and not less than that
• Leaving the treatment to act for too long
• Not rinsing the treatment properly – remember to wash the solution off entirely leaving no residue
• Straightening too thick sections of hair – Remember to take very tiny (2 cm wide) sections at a time
• Not going over each section of hair 6 times with the iron
